Pandemonium over Jordan Concords

I have always wanted the Jordan Concords ever since MJ returned from baseball in 1994-1995 and when he wore the 2nd version when the Chicago Bulls went 72-10 in the 1995-1996. Growing up my mom never bought me shoes over $50, so Jordan were obviously out of question early on. I think the shoes I wore for basketball were mostly Grant Hill Filas in grade school and junior high. Anyways fast forwarding to 2012, the retro release of the Concords were set to hit the market on December 23 jordan 21 retro,2011. I had my calendar in my cube at IBM marked and circled for months! I was motivated after 15 long years to finally own a pair. Out of all the Jordan shoes ever released these were always the most popular pair among not just sneaker-heads but also the casual crowd, so I knew I had my work cut out for me http://cheapjordanretro8sale.blogspot.com/2012/11/jordan-22-retro_1.html. When the shoes launched at 12 midnight, that when the mayhem began! All the shoe store sites crashed immediately, I wasn shocked but I figured at least one of the stores could scale appropriately for this type of demand. Knowing I would probably end up posting about the event I did a lot of screen capturing. Below are pictures of each shoe stores website at 12:01am for the Concords release.

The errors above last approximately for for 2-4 hours, it was insane. Luckily I already had an auto refresh plugin, so I didn have to manually refresh all the pages. Finally around 2am the Nike site finally loaded up, I quickly picked out my shoe size only be greeted with the image below.

Not getting flustered I closed the tab and patiently waited for the next shoe site to load up. Champ loaded off and on about 30min later. Quickly picking out my shoe size I was greeted with another out of stock message.

If you wondering why you don see any Eastbay shots, it because they tweeted that they were all sold out. I found that peculiar since the site NEVER loaded. Down to my last tab on auto refresh was Finishline which still was not loading. Luckily around 3:30am central the site finally came up! I quickly added the shoes to my cart but instead of an out of stock message, I received an error message.

Not giving up, I did one last refresh and was able to get to the check out. I received the message I waited for all night:

According the tweet by the company I figured I was good to go!

After a week I called customer service since my shoes hadn been shipped. The representative told me that my shoes would be shipped. The shoes were already $179.99 as it was, no way was I going to select next day shipping. I applaud Finishline for their poor service (deletes site from bookmarks).

Rashard Lewis on the Concord Release:

I heard a lot of people [were] waiting in line. I guess Jordan is the man. It's unbelievable how kids wait in line all night for Jordans. "If they could do that for school, they might get better grades."
